There is no doubt that India with a population of 1.2 billion people has talent hidden in the deepest corners of the country. E.g. the Bhils of Madhya Pradesh – natural archers, the Siddhis of Gujarat – naturally talented for basketball and the Bhutias of Sikkim – demonstrated dexterity for football. Unfortunately not enough is being done to scout and harness talent, train them and provide proper nutrition; which are essential to convert raw potential into world beaters.
